Peanut, Peanut Butter

Who needs jelly or bread when you can just eat peanut butter by the spoonful? Payton no longer wishes to eat a PBJ, but rather, would just like her PB on a spoon and in a bowl. She enjoys this afternoon snack with a large glass of milk!

Kendall's Birthday

Kendall turns 2!

Happily being carted around

Not so happy:(
We attended a 2nd birthday party for Payton's friend, Kendall, at the Lake Club this weekend. Kendall was a leap year baby, so they had to settle for Sunday instead. Payton had a great time running around and playing with all the kids. She really liked riding in the wagon until a little boy pushed her into a wall. I think it caught her off guard and she got upset:(

House Update

Payton's Room
Dining Room
Study/Playroom

Kitchen
This was a very busy weekend for our house. Ty, Steve, and Kyle primed and painted both girls' rooms, the girls' bathroom, and our mud room. All of the rooms look great! The hired painter is coming on Thursday to do our room and back stairs and the carpet will be installed on Friday. Hopefully, some of the furniture and boxes will be making their way into our home this weekend.

Potty Time?

Yesterday was a momentous occasion in Payton's life. She used the "big girl" potty for the very first time. I've been noticing that she is going to bed and waking up dry from her naps in the afternoon, so I decided to try her out to see how she would do. Sure enough, I set her on the potty before her nap and she went pee-pee. Needless to day, the whole house was excited and she got a little embarrassed!

Visit with the Doctor

We went to the doctor today for my 6 month check-up. It is hard to believe that I am already 24 weeks! Time is flying by. We had another sono today because they couldn't see the four chambers of the baby's heart at our 5 month visit. The nurse said all is good!

However, the baby is managing to cause me severe pelvic pain, because she stands and kicks at my pelvis with both of her feet! Thankfully this has only gone on for a few days. Maybe she will decide to move soon:) In addition, she has plopped down right on my bladder. This makes working out a real treat.

Christmas Day

Payton is overwhelmed just looking at the mound of gifts.

The presents from Santa came unwrapped and already assembled. Yea!

Enjoying a white Christmas with Grandpa Steve
Christmas Day was a long and fun-filled day for Payton. We started our day at Grandma Pia's house where we ate breakfast and opened gifts. Then we went back to the house to open gifts with the Sitko's. There was definitely not a shortage of gifts. I think we opened for 2 solid hours! After a tasty lunch and Payton's short nap, we headed to Great-Grandma Erika's for more gift giving. Payton was shy at first to open her gifts, but soon got the hang of it, and wanted to unwrap everything in sight. She had so many gifts that we actually had to open them in a couple waves! We were very thankful for all the presents received and time shared with family.

Slurping Cereal

While mommy was away at work one day, Payton Anne was taught how to drink the milk from her cereal bowl. So, on Saturday morning, Payton showed mommy and daddy her new found ability. If you look closely, she only spilt a few drops. Not bad for a 20 month old!

COOKIES!

My little darling is getting her first taste of homemade Christmas cookies. Not suprisingly, she loves them. However, Mommy was not so enthusiastic about the green icing all over her face. This would be the first of many Christmas treats to come!

Visit with Santa

After the Christmas parade we went to visit Santa at his "house" in downtown Springfield. Needless to say, Payton was not at all impressed. She refused to sit on Santa's lap all by herself, so Santa invited me to sit with her. I personally think that is an old Santa trick to get mommies on Santa's lap. Well, maybe next year Payton will have better luck with Santa Claus!

Sonogram

Ty and I went to the doctor today. We were told that we are being blessed with another baby girl!!! With the exception of her really long legs, she is exactly on time for April 22nd. We will be 21 weeks tomorrow, so only 19 weeks to go:)
